The Library with Altitude
In 2002, KGD and Globus Design Associates (GDA) were commissioned to develop a Master Plan to address issues such as bringing the building into conformance with the Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG). Besides accessibility, another goal was to re-evaluate the  floor plans with an overall objective of increasing functionality for all age groups.

With the Red Bank Borough Council's approval of a budget of approximately $1.7 million, the library embarked on an extensive renovation program. Some of the changes include an elevator that will provide access to all public areas of the building. Another is the renovation of the public restrooms to accommodate persons with disabilities. The children's area will be redesigned to meet needs of various age groups, and overall the library's furnishings and mechanical system will be updated.

It is anticipated  that as programs  are relocated, the architectural details of the library's interior will be more discernible. It is hoped that the Eisner Room (shown above) can be opened to controlled use by the public. Another asset, the view of the river, is to be made more evident.
