Municipal Center Front and Center
The existing Municipal Building, an old farmhouse, was found to have major architectural, accessibility, structural, and mechanical/electrical deficiencies. Even if it were renovated to address all the physical and code deficiencies, the resulting building would not function well as a Municipal Center. The only practical resolution was new construction. To date the Municipal Center, which was awarded to G & P Parlamas Inc. (an Allenhurst-based contractor), is nearing completion.

The 42,000 square foot center consists of a meeting room/courtroom, administrative offices, and a police department. The architectural expression, while contemporary, reflects the traditional character of the Borough. The final addition to the complex will be a Library.
