NED GAUNT , AIA
PRINCIPAL
Ned joined the architectural firm of Gary Y. Kaplan in 1969 and became a partner in 1971. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University, received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Stanford University after serving two years as an officer in the U.S. Navy, and was licensed to practice architecture in 1970.
Ned was President of the Jersey Shore Chapter of Architects in 1976 and President of the New Jersey Society of Architects in 1983. He is Past President of the Monmouth Ocean Development Council; Past Chairman of the Red Bank Branch Management Committee of the Community YMCA; and inaugural Co-Chairman of the Red Bank Martin Luther King, Jr. Observance Committee.
Ned is a member of the Drafting and Design Advisory Committee at Brookdale Community College and former member of the Advisory Board of the School of Architecture at New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark. He served as a member of the Board of Trustees for People Center and was a member of the Corporate Executive Board of Family and Children's Service. He currently is a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the Red Bank RiverCenter, a Downtown Alliance. Until November 2004, Ned chaired RiverCenter’s Visual Improvement Committee and had been a member of that organization’s Economic Development Committee. He also is a member of the AIA New Jersey Historic Resources Committee and the Red Bank Historic Preservation Commission.
The Jersey Shore Section of the American Institute of Architects named Ned “Architect of the Year” in 2000 and presented to him the “Distinguished Service Award” in 2001. Ned is a licensed architect in New Jersey; and he holds an NCARB Certificate.
